How to Prevent a Tire Blowout

When you have a tire blowout, your first reaction may be shock, which is followed by confusion as to what may have caused the blowout in the first place. In most cases, tire blowouts can be prevented with good tire maintenance. At Witt Lincoln, we offer a full line of automotive services and tire maintenance solutions.

  • Alignment - Always have your wheels aligned when they are first installed and if you detect a problem.
  • Rotation - Make sure to have your tires rotated and balanced at least every 5,000 to 8,000 miles.
  • Tire Pressure - Make sure your tires are properly inflated with the amount of air recommended in your owner's manual. Being over-inflated can be as hard on tires as being under-inflated.
  • Tread - When tires start to show signs of tread loss, replace them.

Stop by our Lincoln service and repair center and check out our roadside supplies or schedule an appointment for one of the many other automotive services we offer.
